  • 30 ounces canned kidney beans (15 oz light red; 15 oz dark red, drained and rinsed)
  • 8 ounces canned tomato sauce
  • 15 ounces canned fire-roasted diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear beef chunks with diced onion until browned.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Drain excess fat from the mixture before returning it to the pot.
  4. Stir in both types of beans, tomato sauce, fire-roasted tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
