  • 5 medium apples, sliced between 1/8" and 1/4" thick
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 3/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups salted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups old-fashioned whole rolled oats
  • 1 and 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp salted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp heavy cream
  • Pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉. Grease a 9×13 pan with nonstick spray and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, flour, brown sugar, and spices; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, melt butter and mix in remaining crust ingredients until crumbly.
  4. Reserve some crumb mixture; press the rest into the prepared pan for the base.
  5. Spread apple filling evenly over the base and top with reserved crumb mixture.
  6. Bake for 38 to 45 minutes until golden brown and apples are tender.
  7. Allow cooling before slicing; drizzle with salted caramel before serving.
