  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples (about 3 medium)
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir in flour until crumbly. Press two-thirds of this mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Toss sliced apples with cinnamon and nutmeg before spreading them over the crust.
  4. Drizzle salted caramel sauce over the apples, then crumble the remaining mixture on top.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and apples are tender.
  6. Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
