  • 2 lbs apples (Gala, Fuji, or similar)
  • 10 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 inches fresh ginger
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tsp black peppercorns

Instructions

  1. Wash and quarter the apples, leaving the skin on for added flavor.
  2. Combine chopped apples, sliced ginger, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, black peppercorns, and water in either an Instant Pot (cook for 18 minutes at high pressure) or simmer on the stovetop until apples are soft (about 30 minutes).
  3. Strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing down on solids to extract maximum flavor.
  4. Allow tea to cool before storing in sealed containers.
