Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup strong coffee
  • ¼ cup milk (or plant-based alternative)
  • ¼ cup coconut cream (or heavy cream)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Bring to a gentle boil until sugar dissolves. Cool and store in an airtight container.
  2. Whip together coconut cream and one tablespoon of gingerbread syrup until soft peaks form.
  3. Heat milk gently until simmering; froth using a French press or electric frother.
  4. Stir two tablespoons of gingerbread syrup into coffee, add frothed milk on top, and finish with whipped cream.
