  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups diced onion
  • 2 cups diced celery
  • 3 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme (fresh or dried)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage (fresh or dried)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1½ cups chicken broth
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread dry bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté diced onions and celery until tender (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. In a large bowl, combine toasted bread cubes with sautéed vegetables. Add in poultry seasoning, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper; mix gently.
  4. Whisk together chicken broth and eggs in another bowl; pour over the bread mixture and stir until moistened.
  5. Transfer to a greased baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for about 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 30 minutes until golden brown.
