  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer 7 sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each with melted butter.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together semolina, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the filling over the phyllo base and top with one final sheet of phyllo, again brushing with butter.
  5. Score the top lightly and bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before drizzling warmed honey on top and sprinkling with sesame seeds.
