Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and toast the chopped pecans on a baking sheet for 5–7 minutes until golden.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the cooled toasted pecans.
  7. Scoop tablespoonfuls of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets and bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden.
  8. Cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Prepare the glaze by melting butter and brown sugar in a saucepan, then whisk in milk and powdered sugar until smooth.
