Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour
  • baking powder
  • baking soda
  • salt
  • ground cinnamon
  • sugar
  • unsweetened applesauce
  • vegetable oil
  • vanilla extract
  • milk
  • brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, combine unsweetened applesauce, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. For the cinnamon swirl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over it. Add remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mix; swirl gently with a knife.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
