  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 whole egg, softened
  • 1 egg yolk, softened
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk, softened (120 ml)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200 g)
  • 5 tablespoons salted butter, softened (70 g)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, softened (120 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toast the chopped pecans in a pan over medium heat until golden brown.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and both types of butter until creamy. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, icing sugar, and salt. Gently fold into the wet mixture until just combined.
