  • 1/4 cup dark cocoa powder

  • 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch pan with foil and nonstick spray.
  2. In one bowl, whisk melted butter with dark cocoa powder until smooth. In another bowl, beat sugar, eggs, espresso powder, and vanilla until fluffy.
  3. Combine the cocoa mixture with the egg mixture, then gradually mix in flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Spread batter in the pan and bake for 25-28 minutes until slightly sticky when tested with a toothpick.
  5. For frosting, combine heavy cream with instant coffee until dissolved. Beat softened butter and salt before gradually adding powdered sugar with the coffee mixture.
  6. Once brownies are cool, frost them evenly. Melt dark chocolate chips with heavy cream, then drizzle over frosted brownies.
  7. Allow to set before cutting into squares.
