  • 5 pounds assorted apples
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for brushing)
  • 1 tablespoon raw sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  6. Brush with milk and sprinkle raw sugar on top before baking.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes at high heat; reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking until golden.
