  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 2 small Fuji apples
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 3 tablespoons barley tea

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, cook the diced turkey bacon until crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels.
  2. In the same pan, sauté the finely diced onion in the remaining fat over medium-low heat until translucent (about 8-10 minutes).

  5. Remove from heat and mix in barley tea before returning to low heat.
  6. Let simmer for about 10-12 minutes or until thickened.
